Nikki looked up from the screen of her laptop, lips lightly pursed. She reached over and picked up her vibrantly colored smoothie, having to suck rather hard on the straw in order to drink some of the frozen drink. She eventually gave up on getting a lot of it until it melted a bit since her hand was practically freezing off. She set the drink back down on the right side of her computer. She flexed her right hand fingers, the cold ones, trying to work some agility back into them. The sophomore was sitting at one of the small cafes that were scattered along main street. She was sitting in the sun, where it was just edging a touch towards hot. She didn't want to wear her sweatshirt, which she might've had to in the shade, and it was thrown over the back of one of the other two chairs at her table. They were both in the shade - hers was the only one at that particular table in the sun. Lips pursed lightly once more, she went back to typing, fingers flying across the keys.
Nikki was dressed in typical style for her: basically whatever she'd managed to grab first. Her top was a light yellow cami with spaghetti straps. It hugged her slender figure, but wasn't skin-tight. Her jeans were a light, faded blue, and scuffed in places from use. They showed off her long, toned legs, even with the gentle flare at the bottom. Her shoes were Bearpaw slippers, the light brown, or beige, in color. Being far from girlie, the pretty brunette was not wearing any make-up or jewelry. Her brown hair was pulled into a messy bun, and the shorter hair in front had escaped to frame her face. She looked up from the laptop, looked back over her shoulder at the street with an only half interested expression. The sun caught her eyes, and made the an almost light green in color - dazzling. Her eyebrows pulled together for a moment, and she turned back to her laptop.
Nikki's table was on a low patio at the front of the cafe that just brought her up about a foot higher than ground level. It was a warm day. Enough that one could feel the slight burning sensation in the sun. It was still cool enough that in the shade, it might've been a bit cool without a sweatshirt. There was no breeze, and there were no clouds to block the sun in the blue sky. Nikki rubbed the back of her neck. She was going to just get back to work, until she noticed a figure standing almost right next to her table. She started, hand knocking her drink so that it fell to the ground. Blushing bright red, she bent over to pick up the drink. She'd need a new straw, but fortunately, the lid hadn't come off, so it hadn't spilled. Keeping her gaze downcast, she silently wished the person, whoever it was, would just go away. She knew that, had it been one of her friends, they already would've sat down. Therefore, it was someone she didn't know, and she fervently desired them to leave before she could embarrass herself further.

Liam hiccuped softly under his breath as he walked slowly down main street. His golden eyes darted around, taking in everything that he was surrounded by. The cars that were racing by him were growing more and more annoying by the second, as he wasn't too fond of hearing constant honking. Of course, he understood that they were probably a bit startled seeing someone like him walking down the streets of Hershey. His appearance wasn't exactly one that was a common thing. Individuality was an understatement when it came to Liam.
Turning his pale face away from the street, he slipped his hands into the pockets of his jeans, which were as usual, slung low on his slender hips. Despite how warm it was today, he refused to wear shorts, as he found he looked more than awkward when he did. Part of him regretted it, as the sun was beating down on him, causing him to nearly break out into a sweat. At the thought of sweating, he couldn't help but gag slightly. That was something he never did enjoy, as it lead to his hair going limp, and his eye makeup smudging. His mane of hair was done out as it usually was, teased out on end. Yet today he went a bit lighter with the eye makeup, only rimming his golden eyes with a line of eyeliner, rather than applying blackened eyeshadow on top of it.
A slight rumble in his stomach caused Liam's thoughts to shift to how hungry he had become. Coming to a quick stop, he let his eyes wonder around, spotting a small cafe. It looked promising, though he could eat anything at this moment. As quick as he could, Liam darted to it, making his way to the counter and ordering up three cookies. Yes...three cookies, though he made sure they contained no chocolate. After paying, He turned on his heel, golden eyes darting around for a place to sit. There seemed to be no empty tables, which saddened him a bit. Biting down on his lip, he made his way toward one of the tables, seeing a girl about his age sitting alone. By her appearance, she looked to be fairly nice, though he was still a bit cautious upon his approach.
He regretted it suddenly as she knocked over her smoothie, his small nose wrinkling up. "Do you mind if I sit?" He asked quietly, thankful that his accent hadn't slipped up too much. He prayed silently in his mind as his long fingers fumble with the bottom of his white t-shirt, waiting for her to either let him sit...or tell him to leave her alone.

Nikki looked up when the teen spoke, expression betraying no judgment. Sure, the make-up through her off a little, but she wasn't one to judge before getting to know a person. "Uh, sure," she replied, eyebrows pulled together minutely. She stood, having to catch her balance on the table, since do her haste she'd thrown herself off balance. "I'll- I'll be right back." She manged to go into the cafe without knocking anything else over or tripping. She picked up another straw, then looked out the glass door at the boy. She'd left her laptop, so she couldn't just disappear. Nikki was naturally shy, so this was a bit odd. But she pushed the door open and made her way carefully back to her seat. She sat down and looked at the screen of her computer.
She traded out the straw for the new one in silence. Deciding the silence was awkward, she looked up to the boy with her warm brown eyes. "So, you go to the school here?" she asked. "I'm Nikki," she added with a brief, half smile, at her own forgetfulness. It was typical her. Knocking things over, tripping, and forgetting the simplest tasks - like introducing herself. The one thing she never forgot: homework. She wrote it down. She moved her finger over the touch, mouse on her laptop, and clicked 'save' on the document, just in case she forgot later on. Nikkie debated for a moment, then closed the laptop halfway. It was probably rude to just ignore the other teen, even if that was her natural tendency. She looked down and away, fidgeting with a strand of hair.

Liam practically held his breath as he waited for the girl to reply, praying silently in his mind for a kind reaction. No name calling...please... He thought to himself, breaking free from his thoughts as he heard the girl speak. It took him a short moment - as he simply stared - to realize that she had actually agreed to him setting there, rather than giving him a dirty look and telling him to bug off. "Th-thank you." He studdered out quickly, paying close attention to get the words right. Silently, he took a seat, setting the cookies that he held in his hand, one on top of the other, all piled upon a white napkin that he snagged when he had bought them. Yummy... He lifted his eyes from the cookies as he saw the girl get up, biting his inner lip slightly, assuming that he was literally scaring her away or something. But as she excused herself, and simply left her laptop at the table, Liam rose a brow before bringing a cookie to his lips and taking a small bite. Okay. I didn't scare her afterall... And that, was always a good thing.
He nibbled at the cookie in the short moments that the girl was gone, though his attention was once again shifted to her as she sat back down, listening closely to the words that she spoke. "Y-yes. I go to Divinity." He said slowly, once again paying close attention so his accent didn't slip up horribly. Liam smiled brightly as she introduced herself, replying quickly in a rather excited manner. "I'm Liam!" The smile stuck on his face as he spoke, clearly excited. The reason for the mood? The simple fact that she wasn't being rude to him like a lot of people in the town. He watched as she did something with her computer, though he wasn't about to peak his head over and nag on her about what she was doing. "Dank you for lettink me sit..." He spoke a moment later, nose wrinkling up slightly at the slip of his accent. Dammit...

Nikki nodded, looking down. "Cool - I do too," she responded to the comment about Divinity. She noticed that he talked slowly, but didn't dwell on it. Eventually she'd probably figure out why, but... Her green eyes looked up, startled and slightly wide due to his excited tone. She smiled in a slightly unsure, embarrassed, and also amused manner. "It's nice to meet you Liam," she said, smile turning to a warmer one, less surprised. She gently closed her laptop all the way with a gentle click. She picked up her smoothie, having to stir it for a minute before she could drink any. She raised an eyebrow at his next words. "Free country," she pointed out with a laugh. Plus, she wouldn't have the guts to tell someone no. But still, Liam didn't seem so bad.
"Where're you from?" she asked, having noted the accent. Nikki put the smoothie back on the table. Her eyes lit up and she leaned towards him just slightly across the table. A fraction of an inch. "Is it really hard to learn English?" she asked, expression curious. She'd always wondered how difficult it was. It seemed like it would be really hard to learn - it seemed as though every rule had an exception to it. At least in learning Spanish, or French, there were only minimal exceptions. English seemed to have tons. How hard would that be to learn? She had a hard enough time with her foreign language...she supposed English was just her forte, since it was also her art.
