The glazed look over his blue eyes began to ebb away as he noticed the hands on the clock getting closer to the time he'd be released. As his schedule ran through his mind, he felt his stomach growl and his eyes widened slightly with surprise. He'd forgotten he hadn't eaten breakfast, so it was a pretty good timing to have lunch next hour. A thoughtful look clouded his blue eyes and they began to glimmer with the thought of something to eat. Honestly, he wasn't even that hungry. His stomach complained all the time that it could stuff more food into it. In reality, he was never "starving" until dinner. Hmph... escaped him as he leaned his head into his hand as his elbow supported it on the desk. Bah, it was so boring during this class. His blue eyes eagerly looked to the clock again, awaiting the bell as the teacher's monotone voice carried on with something that put half the class to sleep. It was really unimportant and by now he wasn't even paying attention. Though as he scanned the clock a small smirk crossed his lips. The bell would be ringing in 3... 2... 1.... And there it went. He quickly grabbed his black messenger bag and slung it over his shoulder. He was clad in his favorite leather jacket today. A black one that was unzipped to reveal his black t-shirt. Below that would his navy blue jeans with the brown belt. Around his neck was his tablecloth scarf that he tried to wear often, but usually failed at the "often" part.
As he walked out of the classroom, his hand placed neatly into his pockets, he could hear his black tennis shoes thudding against the ground lightly. He hadn't felt like being bright today, so he'd tried to find at much as as he could and added a bit of color. AKA, the purple tablecloth scarf. He personally thought the jeans didn't count. So many people wore blue jeans that it was like they were just there now. Who really cared, anyway? Yeah, Nate was pretty laid back. He didn't have much of a care in the world, though he was a sweet gentleman as well. It usually depended on who he was dealing with. As he headed off towards lunch, he was still debating on what to get. Maybe just a green apple and then a water from the vending machine. He pursed his lips lightly at the thought. Sounded good and simple. Would last him til he got back to the dorm. Then his small smirk returned as he made his mind up.
Soon enough, he was approaching the dining hall. He reached out as he approached the door and opened it, managing to hold it open for two girls who giggled softly as they passed him, causing his cheeks to get that barely noticeable light pink color. He was always like that when girls smiled or giggled or something around him like they had a cute little crush or something. It was too adorable not to notice a girl doing, but if it was around him, then he just felt happy logged. It was like an oh-my-gosh-i-cant-believe-it feeling that made you feel hollow for a second or two. If you get what I mean. He started his way towards the food next, swiping an apple - green to be exact - and started for the vending machine. He popped in some loose change that had been in his pocket and could hear the water bottle tumbling down until the large thud told you it had made it to you. He reached down and picked it up, sighing softly as he did. He felt like he was in a rut. Something excited needed to happen, but what?
Nate ventured a little ways away from the machine and bent his leg to put his foot against the wall and leaned back so his back was against it as well. All in all, it was a pretty cool pose he did without realizing. It was comfortable. He opened his water in a snap, used to drinking out of water bottles by now. He'd used them so much some people were surprised at all the empty ones he had. Pretty, funny. Pressing the bottle to his lips, he glugged a swig or two down people twisting the cap back on, looking around curiously with his blue eyes. No one to talk to. Why was that such a usual? He shrugged slightly to himself as he shined the apple on his leather jacket before sinking his canines into it. As he felt the cider hit his taste buds, it was almost like a hand was reaching up his throat to try and take the apple whole. He tried to chew slowly, so he wouldn't end up feeling sick from eating too fast, and found it extremely easy for once. His mind was too distracted on everyone around him. Conversations there, someone tripping over here, some girl running out of the place crying. He watched her disappear with a soft frown on his features. He hated when people cried. Nate started to put weight on his foot as he wanted to go and help, but stopped himself. He didn't know her and she was probably headin' to the girls' bathroom. Duh. He sighed and pressed himself against the wall again, biting into his apple once more as he slid his water bottle into his messenger bag.

Annabella tossed her hair over her shoulder as she made her way into the cafeteria. She rolled her eyes as a girl rushed passed her crying. Guys always waited for lunch, made the best scene. She shook her head and pushed the doors open. Pulling down her shirt slightly, she pulled her iPod out of her bag and stuck the buds in her ears and placed the player into her pants pocket. Class had been a bloody bore and she was so glad that it was over. The teacher never knew how to stop talking even when there was only a few minutes until the bell. Thank goodness he didn't give them tons of homework. She let out a content sigh and glanced around.
Jackson wasn't in here yet or Cameron. She rolled her eyes as she pulled off her sunglasses and hung them off the front of her shirt. She looked at what was for lunch and realized that she wasn't that hung and just settled for something light. She looked over to where her friends were sitting and waved to them when they saw her. She walked over to the snack machine and got some chips, then over to the vending machine for some water. She stuck her money into the machine and waited as it grumbled and tossed the bottle to the bottom of the machine. Smiling to herself, she bent down to get it. She shook her head as her friends cat-called her as she did. "Idiots," she mumbled.
She glanced down past the vending machines and saw a boy leaning against the wall. She raised her eyebrow a bit as she looked over him and flashed him a smile. He was cute and she wondered why he was just standing there and not sitting with anyone. Pulling a bud out of her ear, she decided to make her way over. "Hi," she said, with a smile.

Nate's hand brought the green apple to his lips again, crunching into it, once more trying not to devour it like an animal. He could feel the hand reaching up his throat again, too short to grab at the apple in his hand. A small growl from his stomach told him that his stomach wasn't satisfied in the least and he sighed and took another bite, quickening his chewing ever so slightly, holding back from swallowing it whole. He stared at the apple with his indecisive blue eyes. Maybe he should've gotten an actual lunch... He cursed himself in his head and took a large bite of his apple. It was about half-way done now. He never thought things through, like how hungry he was, how easy it would "probably" be to start a huge report the night before it was due. He just never thought ahead, which was one thing his brother had always looked down upon. Then again, his brother just looked down upon him in general. Was Nate really all that bad? A sigh escape his soft pink lips as he looked down, twirling his apple in his hand before taking another bite. He heard cat-calling coming this way and he tensed slightly, though he didn't look up, but instead took about bite of his apple, ignoring it. He froze, though, just after swallowing as he heard a friendly-seeming "Hi" from near him. He looked up, ice blue eyes meeting the gaze of some prep it seemed. Oh, how he wished he had his headphones on so he had an excuse not to talk to her. She was just another clone, like everyone seemed to be in this damned school. He shouldn't be so harsh, though. Everyone had their reasons behind things. A quote popped into his head as he blinked once. "Don't judge a book by it's cover." He mentally rolled his eyes. Overly-used.
Nate exhaled slowly through his nose. "Hey," he said simply before taking another bite of his apple and looking back down as he had been before she came. He excepted her to leave or something, but as he felt the gaze burning into him, he felt like maybe he should leave. She didn't seem the type to hit someone, but looks can be deceiving. He didn't want to be abused again. Not again. He looked up once more with his ice blue eyes. "Need something?" His eyebrow went up along with that said. It basically disappeared under his black hair and he slightly wondered why she hadn't left yet. He really didn't see the point in talking to him and it was girls like this who usually thought he looked weird. What with the blue streak in his hair and wearing mostly black like this. He mentally shrugged though. Whatever. She could do what she wanted. Except, maybe hit him. Well, wait... he wouldn't fight back... He looked away again, letting his confusion on his thoughts slide through his gaze silently. Well, the company was nice, sort of.

Annabella raised her eyebrow slightly at him as he looked back to his apple. She frowned slightly, but stayed where she was and waited as he spoke again. "No, I don't need anything," She said, shrugging as she shifted her weight to her other foot. She held up her bag of chips and her bottle of water. "I 'ave what I need. I just came to see why you were over 'ere all alone." She said, as she looked him over. Aside from the blue streak in his hair, the first thing she noticed were his blue eyes. They were bright and surprisingly...pretty. She never met a guy with such nice eyes.
She may not like a lot of people but she did her best to be civil, especially to guys. Even though she was one to quickly judge, she wasn't going to judge him to him. Not much fun for her and it's not like he was going to contribute to it. When she heard more shouting behind her, she turned slightly and waved off her friends, shutting them up quickly. 'Blasted buggers,' she thought. 'No good for anything.' She turned back to the boy against the wall and tilted her head as if trying to look at him from a different angle. "I was going to 'ead outside to eat. Would you like to join me?" She gave him a smile in hopes to convince him. ooc: sorry it's short. =/

Nate's expression went to that calm and serene one that it usually took on. After she held up her foot, Nate quirked a brow curiously. What the heck? Was she going to offer him food? Did he look anorexic or something? He blinked his eyes as she spoke. Oh, that's why. Honestly, he didn't care that she already had what she needed. What had sparked interest into his blue depths was her accent. No H's. He silently wondered where she was from, thinking it must've been more southern, but couldn't figure if it was from around Arizona and California or if it was somewhere from Alabama and Mississippi. As his mind wandered further on where she must be from, he found himself twirling his apple in his hand again.
Nate physically tensed as she spoke again and he looked back up to her slowly. Join her for lunch? He almost just walked away. Why would he do that? He didn't even have a lunch basically. He exhaled slowly, calming himself and pushed off the wall. He shoved his free hand into the pocket of his leather jacket and glanced at her. "If you want, madame," he said, heading for the outdoors, knowing she was probably following. If not, he could always find something else to do. Seeing his apple only had one more bite in it, he chomped down and then dropped the core into a trashcan he passed before he opened up the doors to sunlight. He held it open for her as she passed and he looked down, standing with his hands in his pockets. She could pick where they would go. He didn't care much. It was just lunch, right?

Annabella looked at him with curious eyes just as he looked at her. He probably thought she was either crazy for talking to him or was bet to do it. She knew that know one that she hung around with would ever talk with someone like him. Well, she was going to. She glanced down at the almost finished apple in his hand as he twirled it around. As she looked back to his face, he seemed to be deep in thought. About what, she wasn't sure. She was just curious as to if he was going to take her up on his offer to eat with her, or sit with her since he was pretty much done his apple.
She watched as he pulled away from the wall and smiled slightly to herself. "Of course, I do," she said, her accent dripping on her words. She followed him out of the building and looked at him as he opened the door for her. "Thank you," she said, as she walked past him. She took her sunglasses off the front of her shirt and put them back on as she made her way over to one of the empty tables. She sat down and glanced over to him and he sat across from her. "Oh, I'm Annabella."

Nate followed her as she made her way over to an empty table and he raised a brow as he looked around. How come no one ever ate out here? It was confusing. it was really nice out, so how come everyone sat in the cramped dining hall? He shook his head slightly. Stupid people. He sat down across from her and set his black messenger back next to him, pulling out his red Zune and putting the left earbud in, leaving the other one on the table. He put his music on The Offspring and left it there, listening to the lyrics they sang with a sigh. Music was his escape. He loved to sing and it was always so much fun. He was very theatrical when he sang, but he barely ever sang in front of anyone. So now he just turned to listening to music lately as his escape.
His ice blue eyes traveled up to the girl as she introduced herself. Nate's blue eyes sparkled soft interest. "Nate. Nice to meet you." He turned back to his music, looking through his Zune to add music to now playling. With interest still in his eyes, he looked at her curiously. She didn't seem the bitch type. He knew she must've been a Hershey's Bliss for sure. The way she dressed and acted, it was just noticeable. He blinked once and looked back down. "What kind of music you listen to?" he asked, glancing up from his Zune before looking back down again. He might as well say something at least. It'd be rude not to speak. He exhaled slowly through his nose, knowing he was quiet. He was the brooding type, his mind always thinking about something. It often distracted him from everything.

Annabella studied him as he pulled his bag up next to him and pulled out his Zune. She opened her bag of chips and popped one in her mouth. She looked at his hair again as he looked through his music and absently played with her tongue ring. The blue was an interesting color and she wondered why he got that instead of blonde or a light brown. Probably just his way of expressing himself. She ate another chip when he asked her about music. After washing the chip down with her water she answered. "I listen to anything, really." She said, with a slight shrug. "But I don't really like that country music. Something about it bother me." She looked down at his Zune. "What about you?"
She pulled another chip out of the bag before he answered, only to have it snatched from her hand. She looked up to see the face of her older brother and a few of his stupid jock friends behind him. "Thanks, for the chip, sis." She crossed her arms. "You're a right foul git. This is my lunch. Didn't you 'ave enough to eat?" He smirked at her her. "You should know me, Anna." She rolled her eyes. "Yeah, always eating. Now will you sod off?" Cameron snickered. "Behave yourself, Bells." He tugged her hair playfully and grabbed another chip before strolling off with his friends. One of his friends stopped behind her and brought his head down to her ear and whispered something to her before kissing below her ear and walking away. Annabella shot him a look of disgust and shook her head. "Bloody prat," she mumbled. She looked at Nate. "Sorry about that." She said, drinking some water.

So she listened to basically anything except country? Nate listened to country, because he was always fascinated with out rock came from it, and really all he didn't listen to was hip hop, R&B, rap, and mexican music. Not that he was racist, he just didn't like it. He shrugged after she said something about it bothered her. His blue eyes raised up to her as she asked him and he thought for a second. "Mostly rock and other forms of it. I'll listen to anything that isn't hip hop, R&B, or rap," he said with his eyes thoughtful. "They bother me to no end." He sighed softly and put his Zune down, resting his elbow on the table and propping his chin onto his hand. This was pretty boring. He would much rather be somewhere else. Hopefully lunch was over soon, right? He thought about that for a moment, almost picking his Zune back up, but that's when a group of guys came over.
Nate looked up and watched them with a dulled look, though he was ready to get up and fight if they harassed Annabella. He hated when guys messed with girls, but as soon as the one guy spoke, adding the word 'sis' to the end of his sentence. Then he understood and he almost nodded, but refrained from it. He'd probably look funky just randomly nodding. He averted his gaze to stare somewhere else with boredom. Though, when he heard the goodbyes between her and her brother, he looked back, only to be awkwarded out as he caught some guy kissing below her ear. His first thought was to tell them to get a room, but he'd only just met Annabella and she obviously wouldn't know how sarcastic he was. Instead, he raised an eyebrow as the guy left, but then understanding flooded his eyes. He must be her boyfriend, but wait? Wouldn't he have cussed out Nate or something seeing his girlfriend eating lunch with a different guy. He could feel his head reel with the thought. He would've looked so weak if that'd happened. He never fought back to guys unless they were messing with girls first. His gaze was averted again, eyes clouded with questions and thoughtfulness. He really was the brooding type. His ice blue eyes slid to the corners of his eyes to look at her as she spoke. He shrugged and looked back to where his gaze at been. "No need for sorries," he said with a glaze of boredom upon his eyes.

Annabella smiled as he told her what he listened to. He was definitely the first guy that didn't listen to rap or hip hop. She giggled slightly. "It can be a bit bothersome I suppose," she said, playing with her water bottle. "That's all that is played throughout my 'ome 'cause of my blasted brothers. I just gave up with disliking it." It was no use for her to try and ignore it. As soon as they moved to America, Cameron had made loads of friends that gave him copies of American hip hop and rap artists. He'd play them constantly, loud to. She raised her eyebrow as he propped his head up on his hand and glanced to her bag of chips.
Her phone vibrated in her pocket. Sighing quietly, she pulled out her phone and looked to see who it was. Jackson. Rolling her eyes at his message, she replied and put it back into her pocket. She looked back up at him when he said there was no need for apologizes. "Either way, I am. My brother didn't need to act like a bloody ass. Or not keep John on 'is leash when 'e knows better." Her eyes slowly glazed over with slight anger and hate when she mentioned his name. She couldn't believe he did that. The jerk that he is. She cleared her head and turned her attention back to Nate. She could see curiosity written all across his face. "I don't mean to be nosy but...what are you thinking about? You seem very..." She thought for a moment. "Curious."
