nicknames: Tommy, Tom
age & birthday: September 1;; 18
grade: senior
occupation: works at an auto repair place
what kind of money you making?: middle class

face claim: Penn Badgley
appearance: Thomas isn't one to stand out in a crowd due to his looks, but if you give him a second glance, then he does have handsome features. He stands at around six feet, and weights a hundred fifty to a hundred seventy pounds. Tommy as dark brown hair that match his dark chocolate brown eyes. He's not overly muscled, but he is toned because he runs with Nikki (this wasn't by his choice, he got dragged into it). Thomas a thin scar on one arm from a biking accident when he was little. Other than that, he looks relatively unharmed...even if he as gone down a couple times thanks to his clumsy adopted sister Nikki. He doesn't have a huge sense of fashion. He always looks good, but he doesn't dress with that in mind. He dresses in whatever is practical.

secret(s):
- he almost got in too deep with a girl once...

personality:
- protective - Tommy can get over protective. He's not afraid to get physical to defend a family member of close friend...even if it's not really needed. This is the only way he gets himself into trouble. He's especially protective of Nikki, always terrified someone will hurt her even further.
- worrier - Thomas is a worrier. He can always find the one that could go wrong. And that's what he dwells on. He gets test anxiety, which doesn't help much. The future frightens him because of this trait, even though he knows his family will love him no matter what happens.
- loyal - Tom is exceedingly loyal, which is what leads to him being so protective over the people he loves. You've made a friend of life if you get close to him. One that will certainly stand up for you, even if you're not around to see it.
- faith - Like the rest of the Hartwell family, Thomas is a Christian. He loves helping out at church, and the thought of his savior, Jesus, is one of the few things that can calm when he gets overly worried about something.
- love - Tommy is capable of loving to the extreme. No matter what any of his family ever did, he'd love them anyway, even if he was angry at first. And he loves his friends too, though he does put his family first.
- music - Tom can't sing to save his life, but he can play the guitar. He taught himself in freshman year, and still plays just as a hobby. It helps him relax at times too. He plays well, but not well enough that he could ever take it up professionally, even if he wanted to.
- intelligence - Tommy is very, very, very smart. His SAT scores were amazing, and he really shouldn't have to worry too, too much about the Ivy League college. They want him. He loves math, science, and history (especially US history).
- humor - Thomas has a sense of humor, it's true. It's just a rather dry sense of humor. He can be comical both with words, and with his expressions. Even when he's stressed, he can manage to be funny, especially if it helps someone else who isn't feeling their best.
- girls - Girls have never been Tom's thing. He much prefers to avoid them. He does have some girl friends, and in his past he dated once. He got in too deep with a girl who wanted to go too far, and he hasn't gotten into a relationship since. Not that he minds, being single certainly has its advantages.
- athletic - Tommy doesn't like playing sports. He does run with Nikki, which keeps him in shape. He also enjoys biking despite when he was just learning at a young age and fell, leaving him the scar that runs down his arm today.

siblings: Nikki Hartwell - age 16 - adopted
Cody Hartwell - age 8
spouse: n/a
children: n/a
other relatives: none of importance
pets: Boots - Nikki's tuxedo cat
hometown: Newbern, NC
current residence: Washing D.C. (When not at school)
history:
- beginnings - Thomas Connor Hartwell was the first child of the Hartwells. He was born in North Carolina, and lived there until the age of four. He attended preschool and kindergarten in North Carolina before the Hartwell family moved to Washington D.C. He decided quickly that he liked it there, making friends, and loving school. Math especially.
- adoption - When Tommy was eight, his parents told him they were intending on adopting a child. They hadn't been able to have another child yet, and also thought they were being called to make some child's life better. They went to Boston to the orphanage. Tommy stayed home. They told him he would be gettinga a little brother. But no. Who came home? Nikki. They pair were friends instantly, and family quickly.
- biological - After Nikki was adopted, the Hartwells welcomed the last of their children into the family. Cody was born. He's never seen Nikki as any different that Tom, and doesn't get that she's adopted. Tommy doesn't like Cody as much as Nikki perhaps, but they do get along fairly well. And of course, Cody is family, so if anyone messes with him, they have Thomas to answer to as well.
- middle school - Tommy excelled in middle school. He was taking the highest level of math possible, and it still came fairly easily to him. He loved it. It was here that his parents realized that he was smart. Accordingly, they started looking for a school to send him too.
- high school - Sent away to school, Tommy learned to be independent. For the first time, he was on his own for long stretches at time. He learned to cook decently, picked up some new hobbies, continued running in memory of Nikki, and took challenging courses. He delighted when Nikki finally arrived for her freshman year, and two have become even tighter.
IS THAT ALL WE NEED TO KNOW?
